Fear and Lust Prep. (Sneaky Peak)

I am preparing for a solo show that will be happening next month, details to come soon.

In the meanwhile here are some little studio shots of what I have been up to, the show's title is Fear and Lust so all the imagery is along those lines.

I am going to be showing some wooden hinged pieces, that can be adjusted to change the picture plane by the viewer.

I am planning a little mpeg of them in action which I am going to release nearer the time.

Enjoy

The Outsider Core Arts

I recently had the opportunity to show some new work that I have been experimenting with at this show. The private view was fantastically unpretentious, big thanks to Ryan for putting such an fresh show together, with some amazing works.

The Outsider / Core Arts/ Hackney/ London

Core Arts is pleased to announce the opening of a new group exhibition, The Outsider.

Curated by Ryan McClelland the exhibition takes its title from Albert Camus existentialist novel.

Artists in the show examine different notions of the artist as an outsider and the romanticised clichés and stereotypes involved.

The Outsider surveys a wide range of Artists in age and background from the internationally renowned and established to relative unknowns. Exhibiting artists are shown without hierarchy of academic achievement or fame, their ability or disability, the selected artists have been chosen upon their uniqueness of voice and originality of perspective and it is this that makes for such a compelling exhibition.

Featuring :

Isabel Albiol, Nitiense Amooquaye, Jorge Barros, Karen Byers, Oliver Yu Chan, Billy Childish, Jane Chandler, Jay Cloth, Patrick Coleman, Alex Daw, Mia Eley, Dave Evans, Frances Disley, Elizabeth Eamer, Mikey Georgeson, Tanya Harris, Sara Hayward, Alex Ingram, Adam James, John Jonas, Mawvena Kattan, Dinah Keaton, Rudolph Lindo, Steve McCann, Dan Mcdermott, Ryan McClelland, Gary Molloy, Jo O’Conner, Berni Plastiras, Cathie Pilkington, Jo Potts, James Unsworth, Clifton Wright.

Wall Drawings

Here are some images of the wall drawings from the Conversationalist...enjoy. I am planning more of these on paper at the moment so watch this space.

The image below is a detail from the above, I had a rubber stamp made of a drawing of a pair of legs and feet. So each pair of feet you see are an individual stamp, it took three days and my arms nearly fell off.

Free Spooning

The talented Claire Blundell Jones invited me to document her performance of Spooning tonight through drawing. I was flattered that she asked me and it was a very intimate and comfortable experience..... basically anyone can come and have a spoon with Claire just lie down next to her. Even two at a time!

Me Dad's Onions

I went back to my parents place at the weekend and discovered that my Dad does indeed have a creative side (Mum and Dad met whist working in the death duties department of the inland revenue). He has strung up these onions, using a technique off of the internet, and they are quite beautiful, and I now have some in my fridge. Onion soup anyone?
